Red bridge of Ulleungdo

DSC08992

The islande of Ulleungdo is located in the middle of the japanese sea (called east sea in South Korea). After few hours of boat from the eastern coast of Korea, a large islande dominated by massive and high mountains will appear to sailors. A few thousands of koreans live on Ulleungdo, which is famous for its squids…. and pumpkins !

The old volcano of the islande doesnt allow easy access to the heart of Ulleungdo, and main roads and ways are located along the coast and the cliffs. Yet, hiking around is very appreciated by most of tourists. The two biggest cities of Ulleungdo are connected by a very beautiful and quiet path, composed of dozens of bridges. Most adventurous hikers love jumping from them into the very clear water of the sea, while locals will prefer fishing peacefully nearby.
