Umbrellas of Cheonggyecheon

DSC09539-4

Recently, the beautiful Cheonggyecheon river in Seoul, received hundreds of umbrellas, which are now hanging above the water.

In this sunny saturday afternoon, lot of korean families, couples, tourists and artists moved to the heart of Seoul to get a walk along the famous river. The weather was warm, and umbrellas were slowly dancing with the wind. The scenery was poetic and charming.

Each umbrella is carrying a message and can move independently with the wind. This action was originally launched by The Korea Youth United, which wanted to promote the earth hour campaign for energy savings development. Umbrellas are regulary placed back on the river since that time.
